Black Jack is a 2-3 year old male Jack Russell Terrier cross who was involved in a road traffic accident and rescued by an RSPCA Inspector. He has no major injuries just a few cuts healing on his face and hind legs. As part of his examination he was x-rayed and it was found his front left leg has a weak bone located between the knee and wrist.

Any potential owner needs to be aware that a knock or bang may cause a fracture. Black Jack has lovely disposition and will make someone a lovely companion!

Monk is a male Bull Mastiff cross Dobermann aged approximately 3 1/2 years old. He kept being attacked by owners other two dogs and so is now looking for a loving forever home. Lovely temperament although can be a little boisterous but would make a lovely family pet. We would not recommend him being with other male dogs or cats. He is a medium sized dog.

Ollie is a 10 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a real effervescent character. He has an affectionate and sensitive side but most of the time he’s a cheeky little chap with a real sense of humour! He is always looking for something to keep him occupied so an active, hands-on owner is precisely what he needs.

Given the level of physical and mental stimulation that Ollie likes to have he is not suited to a kennel environment and would really benefit from finding the right owner as soon as possible. Owners will really need to take his socialisation on board and put in training in this area. He could benefit from living with a mature, playful female who wil also be able to show him some positive doggy manners.
Ollie needs an experienced owner who has had dogs before. He cannot live with children but older teens will be considered if they are sensible and happy to partake in his training. Finally owners should have a sense of humour and be creative in coming up with new and novel ideas to keep this little guy occupied!

Tara is a 3-5 year old female Terrier cross who came into Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in June 2007 as a stray. Underneath her placid and dignified manners, Tara hides some real feisty Terrier attitudes. Resourceful and a crafty little lady, Tara can be interactive with people she knows, but likes things done on her terms and will always have an independent side on her.

Tara doesn’t enjoy the company of dogs, therefore, she wouldn’t be suitable to live with another dog. Adult only household preferably although older teenagers may be considered. No children or visiting children as Tara is uncomfortable with handling. Experience with dogs that have shown-status related issues around resources is essential.

For more information about Tara, please call Battersea at Brands Hatch rehoming line on 01474 875106.

Joy is a 6 month old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is such fun to be around; she has an affectionate and cheeky nature. She has the most fantastic potential and is looking for active owners who will put time into her training and give her the mental and physical stimulation she needs.

Joy is best not to live with another dog at this stage, so her new owners can give her the training and attention without any distractions. She will need a home with a garden. She can live with teenagers that will help with her training and will listen to all advice. She will need to live out of the busy London area in a more rural location.

Mia is a lively energetic 8-9 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. She’s fairly small for her breed, she has a short smooth white and brindle coat. Mia is typical of most bull breeds in her zest for life. She’s always full of energy and has a great appetite for fun. She has the tendency to get carried away with herself sometimes, and her interactions with people and other dogs can be boisterous.

She’s a bright spark and new owners will need to be one step ahead of her to prevent her from manipulating situations to her advantage. There will never be a dull moment when Mia is around, this feisty young lady will make a fantastically rewarding companion.
Mia could live in a single or multi carer household, but for consistency up to a maximum of three people. Older teens 15 + may be considered, but she’s not to live with children or visiting children due to her tendency to become over exuberant.

For now she would benefit from living in a fairly low dog populated area but with a few confident sociable doggie pals to play with and learn from.
Please call the Behaviour Unit on 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in Mia, or email us on behaviourrehoming@dogshome.org and quote reference 2007/ 06038.
